SCR ( Triac ) dimming has been used for dimming methods of incandescent lamps and energy-saving lamps earlier. It is also the most widely used dimming method for LED dimming.

SCR dimming is a kind of physical dimming. Starting from AC phase 0, the input voltage is chopped, and there is no voltage input until the thyristor is turned on.

Its working principle is to produce a tangential output voltage waveform after passing the input voltage waveform through the conduction angle shear wave.

Applying the tangential principle can reduce the effective value of the output voltage, thereby reducing the power of ordinary loads (resistive loads).

The thyristor dimmer has the advantages of high adjustment accuracy, high efficiency, small size, light weight, and easy remote control, etc., and it is dominant in the market.

The advantages of SCR dimming are higher work efficiency, stable performance, and low dimming cost.

Important Notes, Please read before installing.
1.Use only with 120V incandescent, CFL or LED light fixture.
2.Turn off power at circuit breaker or fuse before wiring.
3.Only3-way switch can be used with 3-way dimmer
4.Use copper wire only
5.For supply connection, use wires rated for at least 75°C 
Caution-To reduce the risk of over heating and possible damage to other equipment, do not install to control a receptacle, a motor-operated appliance or a fluorescent lighting fixture or a transformer supplied appliance.
